VJ turned actress Madiha Imam has shed off her stylish persona to do a role of young progressive girl in Geo’s upcoming play ‘Heer’.
Directed by Syed Ramish Rizvi the play has been penned down by Mansoor Saeed and Zafar Elahi. The stellar cast included Madiha Imam, Yasir Ali Khan, Asad Sidiqui, Seemi Pasha, Bigul Hussain, Jawed Jamal, ZaheenTahira, Saim Ali, Dania and Aslam Shaikh.
The promos of the play have recently been out showing Imam as village girl who runs a small handicraft centre with the help of an NGO worker Gettee Aara in a village. Her mission in life is to convince the girls to be independent and stand on their feet.
Heer faces serious criticism from villagers and they start plotting against her. They even try to kill her and in order to save her life Heer escapes, leaving her true love behind, Ibrahim, nephew of the Chaudhry.
In city, she meets up with new challenges. Will Heer go back to the village and what will be Heer’s fate? Will she ever get her love back and gets rewarded for sacrifices she made?
The play will air every Monday & Tuesday at 9:00PM from January 25.
