World’s leading FMCG Unilever’s popular soap brand Lifebuoy has created a history and registered its name in Guinness World Record with most number of double High-Fives in 60 seconds.
Influential celebrities including Jeeto Pakistan host Fahad Mustafa, Adnan Siddiqui, Anoushay Ashraf, Syra Yousuf, Zhalay Sarhadi, and other show personalities also become a part of the record-breaking moment at PAF Museum Karachi.
Lifebuoy has initiated this campaign for a social cause of promoting hygiene awareness in the society. Each year a considerable number of children get infected with severe diseases due to lack of hygiene awareness. With this campaign Lifebuoy aims to bring about a positive change in the society by promoting hand washing habit.
The initiative is also an effort to contribute to Millennium Development Goal 4 (MDG 4) – to reduce the mortality of children under five by two-thirds by 2016. With a simple habit of hand washing the precious lives of thousands of small kids can be save. It is the easiest, low cost but effective measure to prevent diseases like pneumonia and diarrhea, which stop 1.7 million children every year reaching their fifth birthday.
It is interesting to know that Lifebuoy commitment to bring a healthy change in the society has already done wonders with its world’s largest hygiene behavior change program already reached over 337 million people across the globe since 2010.
Under the dynamic umbrella of Unilever’s Sustainable Living Plan, Lifebuoy has been aiming to change the hand washing behaviour of one billion people by 2020.
Unilever through its Lifebuoy brand co-founded Global Hand washing Day in 2008. At present this day has been celebrated in over 100 countries with zeal.
Let’s make a vow today to encourage our kids to develop a habit of hand washing for a safe future.
