ARY Digital has recently released the teaser of its upcoming drama serial Kaise Teri Khudgarzi – and its title instantly reminded me of Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s epic song, Kabira.
This song has been the highlight of every other wedding in Pakistan – and it is so familiar that I would not stop myself from making connections.
Bollywood has a strong influence on the Pakistani entertainment industry and, we have seen our creators copying content from there.
Here we jotted down a list of Pakistani dramas whose titles have been copied from Bollywood movies.
Hum Tum ( Hum TV)
Hum TV’s Ramadan special drama serial Hum Tum has been hitting the rating charts but when it comes to its title – it is copied from Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerjee starrer Bollywood film released in 2004.

Hadiqa Kiyani and Bilal Abbas starrer drama serial is about second marriage of an old aged woman with a young boy – the drama has been getting a lot of applaud for its quikry content’. Its title is also copied from Bollywood film released in 2004 starring Mahima Chaudhry, Jackie Shroff and Raveena Tandon in lead roles.

Ishqiya (Geo Television)Â
Ramsha Khan and Hania Aamir starrer drama serial Ishqiya aired on Geo Television in 2020. It is a story of love, trust, and betrayal which revolves around two sisters. The Bollywood film of the same title released in 2010 starring Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, and Arshad Warsi.

Aitebaar (Hum TV)
Directed by Vikram Bhatt, Aitebaar is a psychological thriller film starring Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, and Bipasha Basu in lead roles. A Pakistani drama with the same title has been currently on aired on Hum TV starring Zarnish Khan, Syed Jibran, and Ali Safina in prominent roles. Â

Qarz (ARY Digital)
A drama serial with the title Qarz was aired on ARY Digital in 2013. The ensemble cast of the drama included Nauman Ejaz, Maria Wasti, and Saba Hamid.
The Bollywood film of the same title was released in 1980 starring Tina Ambani, Rishi Kapoor, and Simi Garewall.

Hum TV blockbuster serial Chupke Chupke aired last year in Ramadan starring Ayeza Khan, Aymen Saleem, Arslan Naseer, and Osman Khalid Butt. The same is the title of a Bollywood cult comedy starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Jaya Bachchan in the lead roles.

Dil Kya Karay (Geo Television)
Dil kya karay is an Indian film starring Mahima Chaudhry, Ajay Devgn, and Kajol. In Pakistan, Geo Television aired a drama with the same title. Yumna Zaidi and Feroze Khan lead the serial with other prominent names in the television industry including Abid Ali, Shamim Hilali, Marina Khan, Sonia Rehman, and Sarmad Khoosat.

Qayamat (Geo Television)
Neelum Muneer and Ahsan Khan starrer drama Qayamat aired on Geo Television last year. Bollywood released a crime thriller film Qayamat in 2003 with a multi-star cast including Sanjay Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Ajay Devgn, and Sunil Shetty. Â

Fitoor (Geo Television)
Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor’s starrer film Fitoor was the adaptation of Charles Dickens’s popular novel Great Expectation. Pakistani drama makers used the same title for intense drama series starring Faysal Qureshi, Hiba Qadir, Wajahat Ali, and Kiran Khan in pivotal roles.

Roag (ARY Digital)
Released in 2005, Roag is a romantic thriller produced by Pooja Bhatt and starred Irrfan Khan in the lead role. ARY Digital used the same time for Asif Raza Mir’s drama. Â
