The multi-talented performer, Ali Zafar, has lent his voice to the title track of Journalist turned director Kamran Shahid’s much-anticipated film, Huey Tum Ajnabi – and we have found it soothing.
The meaningful lyrics combined with Ali Zafar’s intense vocals and soothing composition leaves a fascinating effect on the listeners and one finds it difficult to come out of its beautiful spell.
The heart-touching lyrics of the song have been inspired by the commendable poetry of Faiz Ahmed Faiz. The song was composed by the internationally renowned flute master and music composer Baqir Abbas. The video of the title track features Ali Zafar rendering the composition in the presence of several talented musicians. The backdrop runs well-shot scenes showing the intense historical events of the 1971 war. The director of the film while talking about the music said that they have tried to play organic instruments that reflect that particular era while composing the film music.
The romantic war saga boasts as many as eleven songs with heart-touching music by legends such as the Queen of Sufi Music Abida Perveen, Baqir Abbas, Sahir Ali Bugga, Nijat, and Naveed Nashaad. Other than Ali Zafar, the line-up of ace singers providing the musical score includes the likes of Abida Parveen and Asim Azhar.
Kamran Shahid has plans to release a second song in Islamabad – and it is another powerful track sung by the magnificent singer Abida Parveen.
The star-studded romantic epic, with the 1971 war between Pakistan and India forming a unique and historic backdrop to an intense love story, stars Sadia Khan in the role of the female protagonist, opposite Mikaal Zulfiqar. Other veteran stars include Shafqat Cheema, Samina Pirzada, Ayesha Omar, Adnan Jillani and Shahid. The film is being distributed by Mandviwalla Entertainment in Pakistan and produced by Shahid Films. The film is slated to release on Eid ul Fitr.
